Thinking Pink

There are quite a few apple orchards near the Design NJ offices. And nothing perks up our commute as much as seeing the apple blossoms every spring. They’re in full bloom right now—acres of trees with delicate pink flowers reminding us once again of all the possibilities that spring brings.

Now, we’re the first to admit that overdoing pink can be an issue. (Steel Magnolias anyone?) But handled with care, pink can make a chic design statement.

  • Tiny pops of bright color go a long way—the eye goes straight to the bold pink accents in these spaces.

  • Proportion is important: pink is not the only bold color in this bedroom, but small doses look beautiful against the neutral backdrop (and puppies!).

  • Sometimes all you need is the slightest hint of color to make an impression. The pink tiles in this predominantly gray kitchen are ultra-subtle and ultra-stylish.

  • Cooking not your thing? This charming, yet sophisticated pink range might change your mind.

  • Not one, not two, but three (!!) hits of hot pink offset the reserved colors of the wall, floor and bedding in this space.

Though apple blossom season is, sadly, short, you can enjoy spring-like beauty every day by incorporating a cheerful touch (or more) of pink into your interiors.
