The AK/25 faucet from Aboutwater by Boffi and Fantini is inspired by oriental philosophy, art and nature. The faucet opens and closes on a hinge, suggesting the folding aspect of origami, so you can keep it neatly tucked away when not in use and then swivel it open when needed. The faucets have a matte gun metal PVD finish. The wall-mount is $3,294 with a swivel spout and $2,871 with a fixed spout. The deck-mount is $4,723 with a folding spout and $4,283 with a fixed spout. Also available are rainfall or waterfall showers and tub fillers. Hardware Designs Inc. in Fairfield. Aboutwater.it.

The Bel Canto by California Faucets features a cylindrical shape with the faucet stem on the bottom and a “hub” handle on top for a nearly seamless shape. Users push the hub to operate the faucet and move it left or right to adjust the temperature. The spout delivers water in a vertical sheet for a waterfall effect. The single-hole faucet comes in two heights: 8½ inches for lavatory sinks ($659-$1,054, depending on finish) and 147⁄8 inches for vessel sinks ($759-$1,214).
