Favorite Kitchen Products

The spring trade show season in the kitchen and bath industry always generates buzz about the most exciting new products. Even with the shows held virtually, this year was no exception. We asked some New Jersey kitchen designers to name their favorites.

When it comes to innovation, we like to focus on the cooking experience since we love to cook. The new Wolf ranges have really impressed us this year. The induction range has square burners instead of round burners — adding to the usable cooking surface area. The induction range has also moved all of the controls to the top of the stove using just a touch-screen interface, the same as the M series wall oven. The main ovens in the Wolf dual-fuel ranges have also been upgraded to the M series oven and feature a flip-down version of the M series touch screen. The biggest benefit — aside from the enhanced convection towers — is the Wolf gourmet mode, which previously was available only in the M series wall ovens. The knobs also feature a halo light around them when they are actively engaged, making it easier for people to identify whether they have left the gas on.

The Artesso faucet by Brizo has a wonderful industrial feel and also has a visual indicator of the temperature. As the water gets hotter, the color on the faucet changes from blue to purple. It is also a touchless faucet. In addition, the Litze faucet, also by Brizo, has a beautiful architectural structure and comes in several finishes. My favorite is the black and honey bronze. The combination of the finishes is stunning.

In succumbing to the current trend obsession of “opposing elements,” one of my personal favorites is the Waterstone Split Finish faucets. The company’s new Endeavor Wheel Pulldown faucet and its Contemporary Pulldown faucets in Matte Black and Classic Bronze check all the boxes in providing that “wow” factor in places least expected. The cool aspect about this trend in finish is that it pairs up with the latest offerings in appliances should you wish to further heighten the drama quotient.

Whether hosting a socially distant get-together or an impromptu date night at home, the U Chill by U-Line is an affordable way to incorporate a sleek beverage chilling system in your home. My personal favorite aspects of the U Chill are that it has minimal electrical requirements and it can be easily integrated into many spaces, from the kitchen to the basement to the home bar. The customizable accent lighting is also a plus!
